Watertown, Ma - United Electric Controls (UE)
announces the formation of a new company division, Applied
Sensor Technologies, to manufacture their line of
thermocouples, RTDs, thermistors and other temperature
sensors. “The new name reflects our strength in helping customers
solve their temperature sensing problems,” says Ken Kirkwood,
the General Manager of the new division. “We’ve been making
customer-specific temperature sensors for over 20 years – our
new structure and name are intended to bring increased
visibility and focus to this growing segment of UE’s
business.” Applied Sensor Technologies, as a distinct profit
center, now has the dedicated resources needed to fully meet
the requirements of their markets.
Applied Sensor Technologies designs temperature sensors for
both OEM and end-user applications, from lab and medical
equipment, to gas turbines, to power generation and process
plants. Manufacturing and design will continue to be done at
the Watertown facility.

and chemical producers, such as hydrocarbon production
facilities and processing plants, offshore platforms, energy
and power generation plants, pharmaceutical, food and beverage
